Surface Treatments on Handbuilt Forms 14th&15th August
Participants would need to be available to attend two sessions
Session 1: Saturday 14th August 2.00 to 4.30pm
Session 2: Sunday 15th 1.00 to 4.30 pm
Handbuilding & Surface Decoration Intro With Kibby Denson.
In this introductory course, you will
Day# 1: Learn how to make various forms engaging a variety of handbuilding techniques including coiling and slab building.
Day #2: Will focus on a range of surface decoration approaches, and the practice of their application on the pieces you have made.
You will have access to a wide range of tools, clays, and slips with demonstration and explanation on their application.
Kibby is a self-taught potter, constantly exploring the plasticity of the medium through a variety of wheel throwing and construction techniques.
Kibby’s exploration into clay followed from completing Visual Communications in 2011. She has taught in a number of studios across Melbourne.
Total 8 students, 6 hours course. All clay, glaze and firing included. No prior experience is required.
The 4 to 6 pieces you make will be glazed and ready for collection in approximately two weeks.
